　　讲座内容

　　Adaptive e-learning is characterized by matching course delivery with unique characteristics of different online learners. Although various studies show that fit, or personalization, of adaptive learning systems can improve learning effectiveness, the underlying mechanisms behind this remain largely unclear. In this lecture, we coin the new concept of knowledge internalization and theorize it as a major mechanism through which e-learners can effectuate the benefits of content fit for learning effectiveness. Using multi-source data from an experiment conducted with a sample of 301 undergraduate students, we empirically validate the significant role of knowledge internalization and its greater explanatory power than content fit by itself in achieving learning performance, learner self-efficacy, and satisfaction with adaptive learning systems.
